Paris and the Party!

Yes I have finally got round to posting the last day of the Tour de France!

I actually started the night before, after the Time Trial we had time for a quick snack at the train station in a pub, which had been taken over by some really rowdy Australians, still it was quite entertaining!

We had a 3 hour train ride back to Paris, so with everybody was in a party mood. I was sitting downstairs and I could hear the rather loud party going on upstairs. Though it was nice to sit down and relax for a few hours.

After another quick train ride we got to our hotel, which was near the Arc de Triomphe. The next day we didn't have to get up too early, so we got to have a bit of a sleep in - YAY! About lunchtime we walked to the hospitality area which was across from the finish line and beside BMC.

We had a 3 course lunch - yum yum! and lots of delicious little nibbly things, I love how Custom Getaways feed us!

After the race had finished, the teams did a victory lap up the Champs-Elysees, so it took a while from the time they went past on the other side to get back to us, but they were worth waiting for!

I love you Wonder Boy!!! haha

We got to see Cadel Evans up close as he stopped at the BMC tent which happen to be beside ours, it was a bit chaotic as there was a crush to see him.

Later on that night we had the dinner cruise in which Murray read out a lovely poem about the tour and us! it was very funny and there were a few tears shed :)

It was a great night but a little sad as we went our own separate ways the next day, but the tour was fantastic and Chris and the team at Custom Getaways did an awesome job! I'm sure a lot of us will be coming back to France in the future, including me!
